A year filled with Wonder!
We have had an amazing year here at Wonder Arts!
At Wonder Arts we believe that magical artistic experiences have the power to change people’s lives.
Our vision is to bring artistic experiences to children, young people and families, who rarely have the opportunity to engage with the arts, to create profound and positive life changing impacts.
We have accomplished so much this year, here are the highlights:
We kicked off with St Helens Story Fest in February, visiting libraries across St Helens with family shows, BSL-interpreted performances, and free craft workshops over the course of a week. It was filled with excitement and a we had a wonderful response from families.
Next we brought The Sticky Dance to Park Farm Community Centre. These dancers shimmied through the audience, creating a beautiful world of sticky tape in this playful and interactive performance for young children.
The wonder continued with our annual Wonder in the Street event.
This year, we celebrated community as a superpower, presenting our annual event alongside St Helens Borough Council as they launched Refugee Week 2025. We had so much fun with all the wonderful shows and craft activities that captured the imagination of the whole family.
Next we presented Seed to Soil, a beautiful interactive dance theatre show. The performance sparked curiosity about the magic of gardening, farming, and growing your own food. Everybody got to make their own plant pot and take a seed home to grow!
We also marked the end of Communities of Wonder, a three-year programme made up of 10 wonderful projects with children, young people, and families. The project explored themes like mental health, grief, the environment, and diversity all through creative, inspiring arts activities.
Last but not least, we ended the year with two wonderful Christmas shows, The Snowy Day and Jack Frost’s Snow Time Adventure. Despite the cold, the performances were full of warmth and magic. It a perfect way to round off a truly wonderful year.
