What is Young Volunteers?
Young Volunteers is Wonder Arts program for young people who want real, hands-on, working experience helping bring creativity and joy to children and families across St Helens & Wigan.
As a Young Volunteer, you could be doing anything from:
Setting up (and glamming up) event spaces before the doors open
Meeting and greeting guests, taking tickets, and being the first friendly face people see
Getting stuck into social media and marketing, flyers, content, the lot
Chatting to artists and audiences, and helping us make events even better
No two days are the same, and you'll get to bring your own interests and skills to the table, whatever makes you you.
What's in it for you?
Skills that actually look great on CV and experience for future jobs
New mates who are into the same stuff as you!
A behind-the-scenes look at how the arts world really works
Full training, a proper induction, and support from our team the whole way through
A space on our Discord where you can stay in the loop with other volunteers between events
Travel, food, and equipment costs covered where needed, volunteering shouldn't cost you money
And honestly? No pressure. You can say no to anything you're not feeling, and if a role isn't clicking, we'll help you find one that does.
Most events happen at weekends, with some extra sessions in the school holidays, so it fits around school, not the other way round.
Ready to get involved?
Just fill in the form with your details and a bit about why you'd like to join, and a member of our team will be in touch to talk through the next steps. (Heads up — you'll need a parent or carer to sign a consent form too, but we'll sort that with you.)
